This is it! You made it to the end, and it’s time to double check that all agreed upon repairs have been completed, closing documents have been signed, and keys are ready to be handed over!

Final Walkthrough

A few days before closing, we will set up time to do a final walkthrough of your soon to be new home. This will give you the opportunity to see that the condition of the house is the same as it was at the time of contract. You can also ensure that any repairs that were agreed to during inspection have been completed. If for some reason things are not as they are supposed to be, we will have time to come up with a remedy .

Signing

Once the lender has final approval, they will work with title and escrow to send documents for signing. The escrow company will usually contact you directly to set up our signing appointment. Sometimes it will be at the escrow office and other times it will be at the lenders office. It all depends on who you’re working with. There are also options to have a mobile notary meet you at your home or office for singing. Singing appointments are scheduled anywhere between a week and a day in advance. Occasionally you will even schedule it for the same day you are contacted depending on the timeline and how quickly things need to get done.

Recording & Keys

Unfortunately, you are going to leave your signing appointment empty handed. You wont get your keys until everything has recorded with the city or county. Usually there are a few days between signing your closing documents and the transaction actually closing. As soon as I get the “okay” from escrow and receive recording numbers, I am able to give you the keys. We will figure out a good time to meet at the house that you can now call your own!
